highly resilient, usage-based, adaptive hardware-free infrastructure
Virtual Data Center
We know first hand how challenging and time-consuming it is to set up a new data center. Your Virtual Data Center from LEAN Services will take only minutes to set up as it is an out of the box – instant computing infrastructure, provisioned and managed over your private network. With the LEAN Services VDC, you can:
- Reduce or eliminate the total cost of ownership of traditional legacy infrastructure
- Save time and reduce cost on infrastructure implementation & hypervisor licenses
- Upgrade or downgrade your infrastructure as needed
- Gain access to the entire suite of VMware products and services
- Always be up-to-date with the latest software stack versions as they are being released & verified by VMware
SERVICE OVERVIEW
Our Virtual Data Center services offer the agility and flexibility to meet your business’ IT requirements. You can virtualize your entire infrastructure with us, or seamlessly expand your existing infrastructure with additional resources.
In addition to meeting business IT requirements, the LEAN Services VDC makes great financial sense as it eliminates the need for costly hardware investments, over/under-provisioning of IT resources, license renewals, and long-term financial commitments. Pay for exactly what you need and expand the service as your business grows.
RESOURCES & FEATURES
Your VDC consists of a dedicated pool of virtualized hardware resources using the following components: COMPUTE, STORAGE, and NETWORKING & SECURITY. You have granular control down to each virtual machine, its operating system, performance, network connectivity, and security features.

Compute power is provided in virtual processors [ vCPU count ] and Virtual memory size [ vRAM in GB ].
You can create as many VMs as you need and allocate the required vCPU to each VM as long as the cumulative consumption allocated does not exceed the overall resource pool allocation.

All-flash, high-performance storage with multiple resilience level policies is provided in storage space capacity [GB] with options on storage policies:
- Primary RAID 5 – All Flash
- Primary RAID 6 – All Flash
- Secondary RAID 5 Standard NAS
NETWORKING & SECURITY
LEAN Services VDC provides complex, multi-tier virtual networks in seconds, independent of the underlying network topology or components. Your virtual Network and Security Environment is way more powerful as it not only does basic networking functionalities such as routing, switching, load-balancing & firewall but also has enhanced security that is not available with the physical equipment such as microsegmenting.
Virtual Networking & Security does not consume resources from your resource pool. Adding resources is seamless and does not disrupt your day-to-day operations.

In your VDC there are two different types of Network & Security routers you can deploy in your virtual network.
- Edge Services Router (ESR)
- Distributed Logical Router (DLR)
Edge Services Router (gateway)
The ESR is a router in a VM that establishes routing protocol sessions with other routers and all of the traffic flows through this VM. It’s like a router, but in a VM. The ESR is unique because it’s more than just a router. It’s also a feature-rich firewall, load balancer, and VPN device, handling the North-South traffic at the perimeter of your virtual network.
Distributed Logical Router
DLR manages the East-West traffic in your virtual network; traffic between virtual machines, the traffic between virtual and physical machines, all of that backend traffic that makes your application work. We want this traffic to have low latency and high throughput, so it just makes sense to do this as close to the workload as possible, therefore the DLR.
Logical Switches
VMware vSphere Distributed Switch (VDS) provides a centralized interface from which you can configure, monitor and administer virtual machine access switching for the entire data center.
Logical Load Balancer
Load balancing optimizes resource utilization, maximizing throughput, minimizing response time, and avoiding overload.
Logical & Distributed Firewall
Logical Firewall provides security mechanisms for dynamic virtual data centers. The Distributed Firewall component of Logical Firewall allows you to protect your network with an internal firewall that is built-in, not bolted-on. Our Service-Defined Firewall is a distributed, scale-out internal firewall that protects and secures your networks down to each virtual network interface.
